The forming technology known as hot extrusion can be used to produce profiled bars with complex geometries using even difficult-to-form grades of steel.

Hot extrusion as a forming technique offers substantial advantages over hot rolling, forging or machining, making it easier to meet all of a project’s cost, structural and visual requirements, and allowing even small volumes of special profiles to be produced economically.

We produce special profiles in all forms, qualities and surface finishes, as required for the intended application and are committed to helping our customers avoid high tooling costs and long tooling times.


During hot extrusion a round steel billet is pre-heated and, after leaving the furnace, pushed through a forming die into a profile bar using a ram with an extrusion force of 2,200 t.

Hoesch Schwerter Extruded Profiles GmbH possesses highly sophisticated CAD and CAM systems and is able to provide its customers with support from the earliest stages of the design and engineering phases.


Hot extruded profiles offer the following benefits:

  • Different material thicknesses within a single profile cross-section
  • Can be used in highly sensitive areas where profiles are required to withstand specific temperature and pressure conditions, possess resistance to aggressive media or meet specific hygienic requirements
  • Allow production of seamless solid and hollow profiles


To round off our production program, we also offer our customers, in collaboration with our partner companies, the following additional processing steps:

Hoesch Schwerter Extruded Profiles GmbH maintains a management system to ensure quality and environmental protection which is certified according to DIN EN 9100 by an independent accredited certification body.
Material tests
can be certified according to DIN EN 10 204.
