Celebrating its 25th year, Power-Gen Europe and co-located Renewable Energy World Europe, once again proved a dynamic centre point, at which a rapidly evolving power industry met to gather information and compared views on shared opportunities and challenges.
The fair saw leading companies from the international energy industry and the conventional, renewable and nuclear energy sectors present their latest services and technologies, covering all aspects of power generation.
Visitors to the joint Calvi Holding stand, where the companies Hoesch Schwerter Extruded Profiles and FIAV Mazzacchera were exhibiting, showed an interest in particular in the innovative composite technology. These co-extruded tubes, featuring an inner and an outer layer, are produced using steel extrusion pressing. The resulting composite tubes combine a carbon steel element that supports the thermal-mechanical loads with an austenite coating to provide corrosion resistance. These seamless steel tubes satisfy a wide range of requirements for power plant construction and generally result in significant cost reductions.
